Provisions Bake Shop Adds Modern Flavor to Valentine's Day Cookies
The love notes on Provisions' sweets reflect changing times.
When Valentine's Day rolled around while Nannette Connors was growing up, she looked forward to the conversation hearts, little candies embossed with phrases of love.
Now that Connors owns , she continues to offer up her favorite Feb. 14 tradition to customers, but has added a modern flavor to the concept. Some of her cupcakes and cookies boast conventional messages of affection like, "Kiss me" and "Love me." But Connors has also updated a few obsolete phrases. Instead of reading "Call me," the way her desserts did when she was a kid, for example, Connors' sweets have the words "text me" printed on them.
