State Senate Candidate Biaggi Advocates Positive Change in Albany

A PMHS alum is stepping up for change in Albany by running for the N.Y. State Senate seat of the 34 District that includes Pelham.

Allessandra Biaggi, a candidate for the 34th State Senate District Democratic Primary, was at the Pelham Manor home of Elia and Crystal Clemente for a meet and greet get-together Wednesday night (April 18th) with approximately 70 constituents. Ms. Biaggi a graduate of PMHS, Fordham University and Fordham Law School glowed as she outlined why a new change in direction was truly needed for the 34th District's representation is Albany.

A champion for a better future for the district's constituents Biaggi put forth her forward thinking plan enhancing both education quality and cost controls within the district. Ms. Biaggi also focused on the plight of the millennials in terms of housing along with the challenges they face surviving in today's local economy. She also has a handle on the women's issues and acute sensitivities for LGBT community from her work on Hillary Clinton's 2016 campaign.

Former Speaker of the House of Representatives the Hon. Thomas "Tip" O'Neil, (who was both a colleague and a friend to Ms Biaggi's grandfather former Congressman Mario Biaggi) always said, "That all politics is local." Allessandra Biaggi lazered in on the local problems of the 34th district and how they are not being addressed with the proper zeal as she observed while being an aide to Governor Cuomo in Albany this last year. Being from the 34th district her whole life she watched as so many important issues were misrepresented by the current representative. So she is challenging, the incumbent Jeffrey Stein, on these important issues in the September 13th Democratic primary.
