NASSAU COUNTY, NY — Nassau County lawmakers will hold a videoconference Thursday on hazard preparation ahead of what's expected to be a record-setting hurricane seasons.

Legislator Arnie Drucker of Plainview is partnering with County Executive Laura Curran to host a webinar on Zoom title, "All-Hazard Preparedness: Are You Ready?" Steven Morelli commissioner of the county's emergency management office, will present the webinar, which will include tips neighbors can use to prepare for a variety of emergencies.

The presentation will begin at 7 p.m. Thursday.

"When an emergency occurs and every moment counts, how we prepare can make all the difference," Drucker said in a statement. "In the aftermath of Tropical Storm Isaias and the potential for more storms on the horizon, I’m pleased to partner with County Executive Curran and the Office of Emergency Management so that our residents have the opportunity to conveniently interact with preparedness experts and brush up on essentials from the comfort of their homes."
