PLAINVIEW, NY — An ambulance taking a patient to Plainview Hospital collided with a car on an exit ramp of the Seaford-Oyster Bay Expressway.

The private ambulance crashed around 6:45 a.m. Monday at the intersection of Old Country Road and the exit ramp of the northbound lanes of the expressway, officials said.

Plainview firefighters used wood cribbing to stabilize the ambulance before they could remove the patient and emergency medical crews from the leaning ambulance. The patient was removed and a Plainview Fire Department ambulance took the patient to the hospital.
