Burnt Food Leads To Smoky Plainview Restaurant: Officials
Firefighters were called to a restaurant this week for smoke. They found burnt food was left over in an oven.

PLAINVIEW, NY — Firefighters were called to an Italian restaurant in Plainview this week after food left in the oven caused the building to fill with smoke, officials said.
Around 10:40 p.m. Monday, the Syosset Volunteer Fire Department rushed to La Piazzetta Cafe on Woodbury Road after an automatic fire alarm triggered at a nearby deli. Both restaurants are part of the same strip mall.
Firefighters checked out the row of stores and found smoke inside La Piazzetta Cafe. Crews stretched a precautionary hose line to the front door and entered the eatery. They found burnt food in the oven caused the smoke, officials said. There were no flames.
