Candidates For Open Seat on Nassau County Legislature Announced
The two Plainview residents will be running for the seat previously held by Legislator Judith Jacobs who passed away this month.

The two candidates to run for the seat on the Nassau County Legislative left open following the death of Judith Jacobs have recently been announced.
Arnold Drucker, a trustee at Nassau County Community college was chosen as the Democratic nominee while Louis Imbroto, an attorney for Nassau University Medical Center was chosen as the Republican nominee, Newsday reports.
Both men are from Plainview.

Currently, Republicans have a 12-6 legislative majority, according to Newsday.
The special election will be held on on November 8. The winner of the election will hold the position until November 2017.

Jacobs, who was the County Legislator for the 16th Legislative District, passed away earlier this month after serving 11 terms as legislator.
The district includes the Plainview, Old Bethpage, Jericho, Syosset, Woodbury, Hicksville, Old Westbury and Roslyn Heights communities.
