Coronavirus: Plainview Schools Remain Closed Thursday
School officials are keeping Plainview-Old Bethpage Central School District buildings closed Thursday.
PLAINVIEW, NY — The Plainview-Old Bethpage Central School District will close Thursday for additional testing and analysis, a message from the district said.
"The safety of our community is the number one priority of the District," Superintendent Lorna Lewis said in the announcement.
Lewis said the district understands the closing inconveniences families but that it is taking "precautionary steps" in the best interest of its students, staff and the community.

While buildings are closed, the district will take the time to plan for tele-learning in the case that the district is closed for a prolonged period of time.

Tuesday was the school's first "snow day," of the year, meaning all schools would open May 26.
School officials are considering restricting facility use after 8 p.m. every night so crews can finish daily cleaning and sanitizing.
