Family and friends of a beloved Massapequa Park woman and preschool teacher will say their final goodbyes Friday morning.
Stephanie Genova died Monday after battling uterine cancer. She was 52.
One of Stephanie’s crowning achievements is her time at the helm of the Massapequa Preschool, of which she served as director since the school’s inception seven years ago.

“We ran a preschool in the Syosset area for many years and it was always our vision in Oyster Bay to expand our preschool program to other parts of the town,” said Oyster Bay Town Supervisor John Venditto, according to Newsday. “Stephanie developed a curriculum and really made Massapequa Preschool so much more than just a nursery school and a baby-sitting operation.”
The funeral mass is set for Friday at 10 a.m. at St. Rose of Lima Church in Massapequa.
