Golf Cart Crashes At Old Bethpage Village Restoration; Woman Hurt

Police say a worker was driving the cart on the service trails and crashed into a tree. A woman had to be flown to a hospital.

OLD BETHPAGE, NY — A golf cart crashed into a tree in Old Bethpage and a passenger had to be flown to a hospital for a serious head injury.

A worker was driving a Nassau County golf cart on the service trails at Old Bethpage Village Restoration around 5:30 p.m. Thursday when two trails converged. The utility cart left the trail and smashed into a tree.

A 25-year-old woman who was a passenger in the cart suffered a fractured skull, police said. A Nassau County aviation team flew the woman by helicopter to a hospital for treatment. She was listed in serious but stable condition. No one else was hurt.
