The National Weather Service has issued the following hazardous weather outlook for Long Island:
Locally heavy rainfall is possible Friday night. Areas experiencing locally heavy rainfall could see minor flooding of urban and known poor drainage areas. There is also a small chance for localized flash flooding, especially in areas where storm drains are clogged by leaves.
Rain is likely to begin falling Friday afternoon with the heaviest of the precipitation coming from around 8 p.m. until midnight. Wind gusts Friday night could top 30 mph, the NWS says.
Another storm system is expected to impact the island next Monday night and Tuesday. It should be all rain for us, but the Hudson Valley may see a few snowflakes.
