Confidence Increasing in 'Significant Coastal Storm' For Long Island

A powerful nor'easter may impact Long Island early next week.

The National Weather Service has issued a hazardous weather outlook for Long Island as an "intensifying storm" is expected to make its way up the East Coast this weekend.

Strong easterly winds, along with heavy rain, will be possible Sunday night into Monday night, the National Weather Service says.

Yes, just rain. Temperatures near 40 degrees will keep the snow away. But the rain and wind could produce moderate coastal flooding during Monday evening high tides.
