Here's How To Get An Antibody Test Friday In Plainview

PLAINVIEW, NY — Antibody tests were being offered Friday at a mobile testing site in Plainview.

Nassau County Legislator Arnie Drucker partnered with Advanced Cardiovascular Diagnostics and the Mid Island Y JCC to offer mobile COVID- 19 antibody testing. The tests, performed aboard Advanced Cardiovascular Diagnostics' mobile testing facility, will be available until 6 p.m. Friday.

People who are interested can pre-register at here or call 516-488-5050. Pre-registration is required. Walk-ups will be accepted only in the event of a cancellation. As of Friday morning, several slots were still available.

Cardiovascular screenings will also be offered.

The clinic, located at the Mid Island Y JCC in Plainview, is the third antibody testing clinic Drucker has hosted in partnership with Advanced Cardiovascular Diagnostics and community stakeholders. The others were held June 4, and June 10, where more than 200 residents received antibody tests.

"Nassau County has already flattened the curve of COVID-19 - let’s continue to work together so we can preserve these hard-fought gains," Drucker said in a news release. "Through this simple blood test, you can learn your antibody status and empower yourself to make smart decisions to protect your family and loved ones."

Attendees will be required to wear personal protective equipment and socially distance themselves from others. They are also asked to bring insurance information for billing purposes. People with insurance will not have to pay any additional out-of-pocket expenses, nor will they have to pay copays or meet a deductible. Those who are uninsured can get tested free of charge.
