Holy Trinity Honors Veterans with 'Field of Honor'

School community dedicates 100 flags to honor those who served in the armed forces.

The Holy Trinity Diocesan High School community honored current and past veterans by dedicating their “Field of Honor” on Nov. 5.  The field will be on display through the Veterans’ Day holiday until Wednesday, Nov. 13.

Each flag honors a veteran or someone who is currently serving in the Armed Forces and was honored by a student, staff, teacher or administrator at Holy Trinity High School. When the “Field of Honor” is removed, the flags will go to the honoree or the individual who honored the veteran.

The dedication ceremony was opened by the Vietnam Veteran’s Nassau County Chapter 82 Color Guard which was followed by a parade of the 100 flags that were placed on the field in front of the school.
