Plus, details are available for those interested in volunteering or attending the championship as a spectator.

Local and state officials are already preparing for the PGA Championship at Bethpage State Park next year.

The event is expected to bring nearly 2,000 jobs to the area and a $100 million economic boost to Nassau County, officials say.

This will be the first time the championship will be held on the Black Course at Bethpage State Park. New York has hosted 13 PGA Championships, which is more than any other state.

“The PGA Championship is one of the largest sporting events in the world, and it’s expected that 1,800 temporary, full-time and part-time jobs will be created, along with a projected $100 million dollars in economic benefit to Nassau County,” County Executive Laura Curran said in a press release.

Next year’s PGA Championship will take place May 13 to 19. The tournament officially moved from August to May due to a larger shift in the professional golf calendar.

The official Ribbon Cutting ceremony took place outside the PGA’s temporary on-site offices at Bethpage, and was attended by Curran, along with representatives from New York State Parks, the Town of Oyster Bay, Discover Long Island, PGA Championship Director Scott Reid and his staff.

In 2024, the PGA of America will return to Bethpage once again in 2024 for the Ryder Cup. This will be the first Ryder Cup held in the greater New York Metro area since 1935.
