On April 7th heaven gained another angel, Beverly Artz. She was a mother,, a wife, a guiding light, a teacher, a best friend and a huge contributor to her community of Plainview. Beverly had one son that she sadly lost in 2016, Evan Harlan Artz, however that didn't stop her from guiding her other children that she was a teacher to 30 years ago. Her students still relied on her wisdom and guidance. Beverly was the PTA president of several schools in Plainview. She was the coordinator of We Care Blankets , an organization that delivers crocheted blankets to children's hospitals. She was in charge of delivering yarn to Our Lady of Lourdes Church, in Massapequa to be crocheted with love. Beverly was a strong support system to her "sister moms" of The Beading Hearts, an organization that supports families that have lost loved ones to addiction. Beverly was a tremendous supporter of the GRASP chapter of Massapequa, also in support of loss to addiction. Her love for animals lead her in a direction of supporting and donating her time to them as well. Anyone that met Beverly could feel her light and love. She had a unique sense of humor, a heart of gold and a laugh so infectious , one couldn't get enough. Her love for her husband Billy was a true love story, one you would see in movies and read in love novels spanning five decades . Beverly was a social butterfly. Not only was she Evan's mom she was everyone's mom. She thought of everyone as her "darling children". Beverly was very much a part of her Plainview community and seemed to be the mayor of the town. She leaves behind her husband Billy and will now be joined with her son Evan who was her entire life. She will be deeply missed as she had made a huge tremendous impact on all the lives she touched. We are all the richer for knowing Beverly Artz.
