Plainview JFK Honors National Merit Commended Students

Sixteen high school students earn national recognition

Sixteen Plainview JFK students have been recognized by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation as Commended Students in the 2013-14 competition, the Plainview-Old Bethpage School District announced.

The Plainview students are:

  • Benjamin Chasan
  • Brian Coakley
  • Corey Cohen
  • Ryan Gillman
  • Amanda Hedgecock
  • Ashley Hilfman
  • Henry Levine
  • Isabel Ren
  • Alexander Resnick
  • Vincent Song
  • Hannah Stewart
  • Alma Wang

All of the students were recognized by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation for their outstanding performance on the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying (PSAT/NMSQT) Exam.

These academically talented high school seniors received this commendation for scoring in the top 50,000 out of the 1.5 million students who participated in the 2012 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test last October.
