Nassau Shooting At Backyard Party Leaves 1 Hurt

Police say one person was shot at a large party in the backyard of the home.

PLAINVIEW, NY — Gunfire erupted at a large party in the backyard of a Plainview home early Sunday and one person was hit in the leg.

Police were called to Maxine Avenue around 1:15 a.m. Sunday after several shots were fired into a crowd from an unknown gunman, Nassau County police said.

A man was shot in the leg and taken to a hospital for treatment. He was expected to survive.
