Plainview-Old Bethpage John F. Kennedy High School Senior Brian Lee Recognized in U.S. Presidential Scholars Program

Plainview, N.Y. —Brian Lee, a senior at Plainview-Old Bethpage John F. Kennedy High School (POBJFKHS) in the Plainview-Old Bethpage Central School District, is a candidate for one of the highest education honors in the United States for high school students. Brian was selected out of nearly 3.6 million students graduating this year as a nominee for the United States Presidential Scholars Program.
“We are so proud of Brian for this incredible achievement,” said Mr. James Murray, Principal of POBJFKHS. “He is an outstanding representation of not only our school but our community as a whole. We are so glad his accomplishments are being recognized on a national level.”
Brian was selected by the White House Commission on Presidential Scholars on the basis of superior academic and artistic achievements, leadership qualities, strong character and involvement in community and school activities. Established in 1964 by executive order of President Lyndon Johnson, the U.S. Presidential Scholars Program continues to recognize and honor some of the nation’s most distinguished graduating high school seniors.
