The National Weather Service has issued a special weather statement for the island.

The National Weather Service has issued the following special weather statement for Long Island:
Areas of fog are expected through the evening hours across the Tri-State. While visibilities vary greatly, most locations remain one mile or less. There will be areas with visibilities locally down to one-quarter mile or less at times. Allow plenty of time to reach your destination and be prepared for suddenly reduced visibilities. If you encounter fog reduce speed and use low beam headlights.
Most of the heavy rain has ended across the island, but there will be a lingering chance of showers into early Monday, when mostly cloudy skies are expected to give way to some sun in the afternoon.
