Subways Suspended After Person Hit By Train At Winthrop St: MTA
The MTA stopped 2 and 5 trains from running Monday afternoon after somebody was hit at Winthrop Street station, officials said.
PROSPECT-LEFFERTS GARDENS, BROOKLYN — Trains along the 2 and 5 lines stopped in Brooklyn on Monday after someone was hit by a train at Winthrop Street station, officials said.
The subway lines were delayed, then suspended, shortly after 1 p.m. as the transit officials investigated reports that someone had been hit, according to the MTA Twitter. The transit officials confirmed around 2:30 p.m. that emergency responders had helped someone who had been hit by a train at the station.
While they investigated, the agency had turned off the third rail power between Franklin Avenue station and Flatbush Avenue station.

The southbound 5 service was suspended between Manhattan and Brooklyn and the last stop was Bowling Green. Southbound 5 trains that are in Brooklyn ended at Utica Avenue on the 4 line, officials said.
2 trains were running on the 3 line in both directions between Franklin Avenue and New Lots Avenue.

Trains started making regular stops again around 2:30 p.m.
For service between MANH and BKLYN to/from the West Side, use nearby B service in Brooklyn. Transfer between B and A/C trains at W 4 St (making stops near 2 stations in Midtown), or transfer between B and R trains at Atlantic Av (making stops near 2 stations in lower Manhattan).
