Plus discussion on transit crime, the Love of Life Orchestra and today's alternate side info.

By Will Yakowicz and Amy Sara Clark

1. Celebrate! Celebrate Brooklyn! kicks off its 2013 season with Patty Griffin at the Prospect Park Bandshell, 6:30pm. Get there early to get a decent spot.

2. Meet the crowd.
If your child goes to PS 9, or will be going soon, tonight there's a PS 9 Parent Community Mixer - For Current & Future Parents! Details at the link.

3. Get political.
Don’t miss 35th City Council District Candidates Forum at P.S. 9, 80 Underhill Avenue between St. Marks Avenue and Bergen Street, at 7 p.m.

4. Solve some problems.
Go to New York Transit Museum, at Boerum Place and Schermerhorn Street, for the event Problem Solvers. Hosted by transit blogger Ben Kabak of Second Ave. Sagas, this continuing series of compelling one-on-one interviews with transit leaders, thinkers, innovators and “problem solvers.” This time, Kabak sits down with Joseph Nugent, Interagency Liaison between the NYPD and NYCT, to discuss public security and safety as it relates to transit in our city. Make reservations here.

4.5 Play Roulette. Check out Roulette Presents: Peter Gordon and Love of Life Orchestra at Roulette, 509 Atlantic Ave, at 8 p.m.

5. Move your car.
The DOT’s alternate-side parking rules are in effect today.
