Little Zelda Owner Opening Bookstore in Crown HeightsÂ
Michael De Zayas, the man who brought two new businesses and a non-profit playspace to the Franklin Avenue area in the past 18 months is planning to open a community bookstore that will have a full slate of free author readings, speakers, kids events and teen and adult writing workshops.
Year-Long Tunnel Work on R Train Begins This WeekendÂ
Now is the beginning of the summer, fall, winter, spring, and summer again of the R train's discontent. At least for Brooklyn residents riding to Manhattan.Â
Man Beaten With Metal Rod on Classon
A 26-year-old man was beaten in a random attack on Classon Avenue last week.
City to Expand Brooklyn Bridge Park
The project will add 1.5 acres of parkland, including features like tree-lined walking paths with bridges over a saltwater marsh and an open lawn. But it also adds a 47-unit apartment building.Â

Judge: Soda Ban Has No Fizz
Bloomberg's large soda ban stayed on the mat Tuesday, after an appellate court upheld the decision from earlier this year that the Board of Health exceeded their legal authority limiting the size of sugary drinks. Â
