'Affordable' Brooklyn Apartments Require $67K, $82K Salary

BROOKLYN, NY — Several buildings in Brooklyn have hit the affordable housing lottery, though only for those making at least $61,000 per year.

Apartments are up for grabs in three buildings in Central Brooklyn and two others in the southern part of the borough.

Two of the buildings are found on Fulton Street. In one, at 2746 Fulton St., there is a two-bedroom spot available for those making between $82,286 and $159,640 per year. In the other, at 2741 Fulton St., there is a one-bedroom unit and two, two-bedroom spots up for grabs for those making between $66,858 and $159,640 per year.

Another three units are available in a building at 898 Bushwick Ave. Again, they are up for grabs for those making $66,858 and $159,640 per year.

The two buildings in Southern Brooklyn are found at 2848 West 15th St. and 2655 East 23rd St.

On West 15th Street, there are three one-bedroom spots and three two-bedroom units available. In the East 23rd Street building there are three one-bedroom spots and one studio up for grabs.

In those buildings, applicants should make at least $61,715 per year.

The newer buildings join a number of other open spots in Brooklyn that have been on the affordable housing lottery since late last year.
