BK Man Caught On Video In Senator's Office In Capitol Riot: Feds
Anton Lunyk, arrested Tuesday at his home in Midwood, was caught after old friends spotted him in photos from the Capitol, officials said.

BROOKLYN, NY — A Brooklyn man charged Tuesday for attending the riots at the U.S. Capitol was caught on video inside a senator's office, according to court documents.
Anton Lunyk, 25, was arrested at his home in Midwood on Tuesday morning after federal investigators confirmed that he was among rioters who stormed the U.S. Capitol building on Jan. 6, officials said.
His arrest comes after at least two tipsters told the FBI they spotted Lunyk in photos and videos from articles about the riots, including a livestream posted by a since-arrested social media influencer who goes by "Baked Alaska," according to the documents.

The livestream was taken from inside a senator's "working space," investigators said, though they did not specify which senator's office it was from.
The tipsters, including someone Lunyk went to college with, showed them his phone number and Instagram account, where Lunyk had put up photos of himself in the same outfit he wore to attend the riots, documents show.

"This is going to be an interesting next few weeks . . . who else is going to DC this week?" he wrote below one of the photos.
One tipster said Lunyk had also posted from inside the Capitol, but had since deleted the posts, according to the documents.
Investigators eventually spotted Lunyk on surveillance video from inside the Capitol building and used license plate readers to confirm a car he drove had been in Washington, D.C. on Jan. 6, documents show.

Lunyk is the latest in a string of arrests in New York City stemming from the riots.
Most recently in Brooklyn, a Kensington man was arrested after a person who saw photos of him at the U.S. Capitol in a Facebook group sent them to the FBI, according to the court documents.
Another Brooklyn man who attended the riots was found with the help of a viral meme.
At least five people died during the Jan. 6 riot as the pro-Trump mob overran barricades, assaulted police officers and breached the building, sending lawmakers into hiding over fear of more violence.
Lunyk was charged with knowingly entering or remaining in any restricted building or grounds without lawful authority and impeding government business or official functions, according to the documents. He is scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday afternoon.
