Caribbean-Themed Holiday Market Returns To Prospect Park
The annual pop-up market features 15 beauty, culinary, clothing, jewelry and wellness goods from local and international artisans.

PROSPECT PARK, BROOKLYN — An annual market celebrating the Caribbean has returned to Prospect Park.
The CaribBeing Holiday Market Pop-Up kicked off at the LeFrak Center at Lakeside on Thursday, bringing 15 beauty, culinary, clothing, jewelry and wellness goods from local and international artisans to the park. The market will be open Thursdays, Friday and Sundays throughout December.
“If you are looking for unique gifts from Black/Caribbean/LatinX artisans for a loved one or yourself this holiday season, you won’t want to miss our holiday market,” said Shelley Worrell, the founder of CaribBeing, the organization leading the market.

“Tell your friends, family and neighbors about this curated market where visitors enjoy authentic Caribbean flavors and contactless shopping by our favorite Caribbean makers from NYC and the islands notably Haiti and Puerto Rico.”
CaribBeing is a cultural organization that transformed a solar-powered shipping container into a venue for artists. It was introduced in Flatbush, known as Little Caribbean, and has appeared across New York City.

The holiday market is run through a partnership with the Prospect Park Alliance, which oversees the park.
"Prospect Park Alliance greatly values our partnership with CaribBeing, which has resulted in a rich array of programs and events in the park over the past several years," Alliance President Sue Donoghue said. "The Market will showcase the diversity of Black-owned makers in our Brooklyn community, which could not be more welcome at the holiday season."
Shoppers are required to wear masks when visiting the market and will be limited to two guests at a time to encourage social distancing. Contactless pick-up and online shopping is also available through CaribBeing's website.
The market is up and running from 12 to 6 p.m. each day it is open.
