East Flatbush 'Affordable' Apartments Require $68K Salary
Seven apartments are available on Lenox Road through the affordable housing lottery.

BROOKLYN, NY — Seven apartments have hit the affordable housing lottery in a building on Lenox Road, but only for those making at least $67,886 per year.
The 250 Lenox Rd. building has four studio and three one-bedroom spots available for those making 130% of the area's median income.
For the studio apartments, that means that applicants should make at least $67,886 per year. The studio apartments will cost $1,980 per month.

For the one-bedroom spots, applicants should make at least $73,715 per year. Those apartments will go for $2,150 per month.
The Lenox Road building includes bike storage lockers, a gym, a shared laundry room, an elevator and accessible entrances.

It joins several other Brooklyn apartment buildings currently on the affordable housing lottery.
Among those is Harry T. Nance Apartments, which has more than 50 studio, one-bedroom, two-bedroom and three-bedroom spots for those making between 30 percent and 60 percent of the area median income, or between $18,515 and $84,600 per year.
Another, in Bed-Stuy, is The Garnet, which has nearly 100 spots open on Fulton Street. In that building, units are available at the 50-percent, 100-percent and 150-percent area median income bracket.
The Astra, also in Bed-Stuy, has 89 apartments up for grabs. Those units are available to New Yorkers at four different income brackets, including those who make 40 percent of the area median income, or as little as $20,160 per year for the studio.
