First 'Tastes Of BK' Festival Coming To Crown, Prospect Heights

CROWN HEIGHTS, BROOKLYN — The popular "Tastes of Brooklyn" food and drink crawl will come to Crown Heights and Prospect Heights for the first time next weekend.

More than 20 spots have signed up so far to offer tastings to Brooklynites who stop by for the"From Prospect To Crown Heights" version of the festival, which will be held next Saturday, Oct. 3.

It is the second "Tastes of Brooklyn" food crawl organizers Seeds in the Middle have held since returning from a pause during the coronavirus crisis. The first was a "wildly successful" Tastes of Gowanus and Carroll Gardens event held in August.

"Our Tastes events have shown how everyone can come out and support our struggling small businesses in a safe way plus empower positive healthy change," the organizers said this week.

The festival — which has been holding food-and-drink crawls across the borough since 2011 — will again use its format of self-guided tasting tours to help maintain social distancing guidelines throughout the food crawl.

Free masks will be provided by the Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce and handed out by volunteers. Barrow's Intense Ginger will provide sanitizer, organizers said.

The festival will include eateries along Franklin, Washington and James E. Davis avenues, with a special focus on Latino eateries in honor of National Hispanic Heritage month. Check out details, including a map of those who have signed up so far, below:
