Love it or hate it, the new Starbucks on Flatbush at Park Place offers something this frequent cafe goer has never before seen: A Starbucks where every single table isn't taken with someone on a laptop.
On this Wednesday afternoon there were plenty of seats available, even in prime spots like the armchairs and tables near outlets.
But a brief chat with one of the Nets-cap-wearing baristas cleared up the reason for the lull.
He noted that the nine-day-old cafe tends to be busier in the morning, plus it's a huge space with lots of seating.
"Things will probably get busier when they put in the WiFi," he said as an apparent afterthought.
Mystery solved.
