BROOKLYN, NY — The Brooklyn Academy of Music will mark its return to live, in-person performances next week with an ice dancing show in Prospect Park.

The venue announced Tuesday that tickets have gone on sale for its first in-person performance since the start of the coronavirus crisis. The show, "Influences," will be held at Prospect Park's LeFrak Center skating rink five days next week.

"Observations on leadership, power, individualism, love, bullying, and rivalry are revealed throughout this thrilling rhythmic work, which heightens the relationship between performers and spectators by seating the audience directly on the ice," a press release reads. "This arrangement offers an intense and intimate look at the piece’s intersection of virtuosity, velocity, and artistry."

The performance is the first with BAM for Le Patin Libre, a ice skating company based in Canada. It is being presented in cooperation with the Consulate General of Canada in New York and the Québec Government Office in New York, according to BAM.

The show will include state-mandated coronavirus protocols and capacity will be set based on government guidelines, the venue said.
