June 17 To Be Named 'One Love Little Caribbean Day' In Brooklyn

A ceremony will bring together Flatbush, Prospect Lefferts Garden and East Flatbush in celebration of Caribbean Heritage Month.

BROOKLYN, NY — Brooklyn's "Little Caribbean" will get its own day during Caribbean Heritage Month this year.

Elected officials, local organizations and businesses will gather in the section of Brooklyn known as Little Caribbean on June 17 to designate it as "One Love Little Caribbean Day," complete with a ribbon cutting ceremony and a tour of the local businesses, according to organizers.

The day of celebration comes four years after the intersection of Flatbush, Prospect Lefferts Garden and East Flatbush was officially dubbed Little Caribbean in 2017.
