Man Who Mowed Down School Bus Driver In Brooklyn Caught, Cops Say

CROWN HEIGHTS, BROOKLYN — Police have caught the man who intentionally tried to run over a bus driver in Brooklyn after a dispute at a red light, they announced.

Kymani Hardie, 22, was charged Monday with attempted murder, second-degree assault and vehicular assault for the April hit-and-run when police say he mowed down a 44-year-old female driver in East New York, according to police.

Hardie, who lives in Crown Heights, was caught in a disturbing video getting out of his car and walking to the front of the bus to confront the driver near Hinsdale Street and Linden Boulevard before getting back in and driving across a median and into the woman to drive away, according to police and video.

Pix 11 reported at the time that he became angry when the school bus stopped as it approached a light that was turning red.

The bus driver was taken to the hospital after the collision in critical but stable condition, police said.

Police released photos of Hardie's Subaru and license plate number in their search for him shortly after the incident.
