PROSPECT HEIGHTS, BROOKLYN — An MTA bus jumped a curb and hit a fire hydrant in Prospect Heights Tuesday morning, injuring the driver and one rider, according to officials and video from the scene.

The B65 bus rammed into the hydrant and a parked car on Dean Street near Carlton Avenue, MTA spokesperson Marisa Baldeo said. The crash happened at about 8:20 a.m., according to the FDNY.

The fire hydrant appears to have skidded several feet across the sidewalk in video from the scene that a witness shared on the Citizen app. The bus also appeared to knock over a tree and had part of its bumper missing, according to the footage.

"Our thoughts are with our bus operator and our customer, and we wish them both a speedy recovery," Baldeo said in a statement.
