Suspect Charged Months After Fatal Crown Heights Stabbing: Cops
A man has been charged with murder in the death of 37-year-old Kern Baird, who was found stabbed in December, police said.

CROWN HEIGHTS, BROOKLYN — A man has been charged with murder for the December stabbingof a 37-year-old in Crown Heights, police said.
Police announced Saturday that they have arrested John Headly, 32, for the Dec. 12 homicide, which left Kern Baird stabbed in his chest at a building on Crown Street. Headly was charged with murder and criminal possession of a weapon, police said.
Family told the Daily News that the two had gotten into an argument that night before Headly took out a knife.

Baird was rushed to Kings County Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police said.
The father of four was remembered by family as "lovable guy" with a generous spirit and newfound passion for cooking. He had worked at the Bed-Stuy Fish Fry the three years before his death, according to the News.
