Three Quarters Of Prospect Heights Now Partially Vaccinated: Data

The ZIP code covering the majority of the neighborhood reached a 75-percent vaccination rate on Friday, data shows.

PROSPECT HEIGHTS, BROOKLYN — Three quarters of adults in Prospect Heights' main ZIP code have now gotten at least their first dose of the coronavirus vaccine, making the neighborhood one of the first in Brooklyn to reach the milestone, city data shows.

The 11238 ZIP code — which covers the majority of Prospect Heights and part of Clinton Hill — reached the 75-percent vaccination rate on Friday, meaning three quarters of residents over the age of 18 have now gotten at least their first shot against the virus.

The neighborhood's second ZIP code, 11217, is not far behind with 68 percent of adults receiving at least their first shot as of Friday. 11217 includes a few blocks of Prospect Heights and parts of Boerum Hill and Park Slope.

Nearby Crown Heights, meanwhile, has struggled to reach even its halfway point in getting residents vaccinated against the coronavirus.

Two of the neighborhood's four ZIP codes had surpassed a 50-percent vaccination rate as of this week while the other two remained in the low 40s, data shows.

The numbers underscore a trend that has plagued the city's vaccine effort since it began. The highest vaccination rates continue to be in wealthy, majority-white neighborhoods, while neighborhoods hardest-hit by the coronavirus pandemic see lower vaccination rates.

Here's a look at the numbers for Prospect Heights, as of Friday:
