Train Derailment In Brooklyn Stalls Rush Hour Subways
Service is back running after a non-passenger train derailed near the Barclays Center, but the MTA said the incident will cause delays.

BROOKLYN, NY — An eight car train that derailed near Atlantic Avenue station early Thursday morning will cause subway delays into rush hour, transit officials said.
The second car of the non-passenger train derailed 1,000 feet north of the Atlantic Avenue-Barclays Center transit hub just after 3:30 a.m., prompting limited service on the D N Q and R linesas officials investigated, according to the MTA.
Service was back up and running as of 8 a.m., but there will still be delays on the N, R, Q , B and D lines into Thursday morning.

There were no injuries from the derailment and the MTA has left the train between the two stations to investigate what caused its wheels to go off the tracks.

- N, R, Q , B and D service is running at reduced frequencies.
- D service is operating on local tracks from 36 Street/4Av to Barclays Center, stopping at DeKalb Ave.
- N service is operating on local tracks from 59 Street/4AV to Barclays Center, stopping at DeKalb Ave, then operating via the Manhattan Bridge to Canal Street.
Customers should consider using 2‌,‌ 3, 4, or 5‌ train service between Manhattan and Brooklyn as an alternative, officials said.
