Astoria Shore Fest Spring Kick-Off To Be Held April 22
A preview for Astoria Park Alliance's Shore Fest is organized to celebrate the arrival of spring this year.

ASTORIA, QUEENS — The Astoria Park Alliance is organizing a spring kick-off event in Astoria Park this year April 22 in honor of Earth Day.
The alliance's Shore Fest usually takes place late summer or early fall, but this year a celebration will held in the spring to celebrate Earth Day and the arrival of spring. The Shore Fest Spring Kickoff will run between 1 p.m. and 5 p.m. and feature educational environmental classes, the reopening of the renovated Bocce Ball Court and free fitness activities, including yoga, tai chi and zumba classes.
In accordance with car-free streets on Earth Day, Shore Boulevard will be closed to vehicle traffic during festival. Other activities in relation to Earth Day include demos from The Queens Botanical Garden, Hellgate Farm, Big ReUse and Astor Apiaries, which will educate attendees on composting, gardening, recycling, water conservation and nature's gifts of bees and bats.

In case of rain, the event will be moved to April 23.
