Bench Flour Bakers Pop-Up Shop

What: This Astoria-based baker will be popping-up at The Brass Owl to sell delicious sweet treats such as mini pies, cupcakes, and cookies.

American Softball For The Challenged & Handicapped Opening Day

Bankra Caribbean Folk Festival

Neighborhood: Jamaica

What: The fourth annual festival will feature traditional authentic folk and the unique twists added from different Caribbean islands. The free event will be split into three main parts: The Stalls/Island, Cultural Performances and Effigy Walkway.

Where: York Performing Arts Center, 94-45 Guy R. Brewer Blvd.

When: Saturday, May 12, noon - 7 p.m.


Mimosas For Moms

Neighborhood: Long Island City

What: There will be a free mimosa for every mom at this Mother's Day brunch. Reserve a table online or by calling 718-361-9333.

Mother's Day Brunch Overlooking Manhattan

Foraging In Forest Park

Neighborhood: Kew Gardens

What: Join America's go-to guy for foraging, "Wildman" Steve Brill, in a four-hour walking tour of Forest Park, one of the best places for foragers in mid-spring. You'll find leafy green vegetables, gourmet chicken mushrooms and other earthy goodies. A $20 donation per adult - or $10 per child 12 and under - is suggested to participate. Call 914-835-2153 at least 24 hours in advance to reserve your spot.
