Off-Duty NYPD Officer Arrested For Drunk Driving: Police

FRESH MEADOWS, QUEENS — An off-duty NYPD officer was arrested early Friday morning for drunk driving after he smashed into three parked cars in Fresh Meadows, according to police.

Police identified the driver as Harpreet Singh, 24, who was driving on Union Turnpike around 12.45 a.m. Friday morning when he swerved off the road and struck three cars parked on the 188th Street intersection.

There were were no injuries reported. The off-duty cop remained at the scene after the crash and was arrested, police said.

Officials charged Singh with driving while intoxicated, driving with ability impaired and refusal to take a breath test, according to police.
