QUEENS, NY — Edible Queens magazine is halting publication at the end of May, owner and publisher Claudia Sánchez announced Friday.

The food publication will stop publishing on May 29, after sharing the stories created for what would have been the magazine's third annual women's issue, Sánchez wrote in an email to newsletter subscribers.

"These are troubling times for small businesses and Edible Queens, while belonging to a network of over 80 magazines across the United States and Canada, is a small business owned by me," Sánchez wrote.

Edible Queens launched in 2009 to cover the borough's food scene and has weathered several stops and starts ever since. Sánchez, a Queens native, took over and relaunched the publication in 2018.

"It has been a pleasure to provide you with high-quality, local food stories," Sánchez wrote. "I look forward to seeing you on the other side of this."
