F Train Delays Snarl Morning Commute For Queens Residents
Queens residents taking the F train to Manhattan are experiencing delays after a train briefly went out of service at Roosevelt Island.
QUEENS, NY — Queens residents commuting to Manhattan on the F train are experiencing delays after a train briefly went out of service at Roosevelt Island, according to the MTA.
Southbound F trains are now running with delays after emergency responders helped a sick passenger at the Roosevelt Island subway station, the MTA posted on its website at 9:09 a.m.
The MTA removed the delay notice about 9:30 a.m., but one F train commuter said on Twitter that there is a second sick passenger.

"We understand your frustration, as commuters ourselves we've been in this situation too," the MTA responded on its Twitter account @NYCTSubway. "You must keep in mind that often time with these occurrences it's due to serious medical conditions such as heart attacks, seizures etc."
I’m on an F train behind it, we’ve moved on and now they’re announcing a sick passenger again?! TWICE in less than 20 minutes. What is going on @MTA @NYGovCuomo @NYCMayor this service is completely unacceptable, how could we allow thousands to be affected by a couple?

The earlier sick passenger delay forced hundreds of straphangers to get off the F train and wait on the Roosevelt Island platform for another train to arrive, according to City Council Member Barry Grodenchik, who was on board.

Good morning @NYCTSubway - everything says good service on the F train, yet my manhattan bound F from queens just made an emergency switch to the G and the platform at queens plaza is now mobbed with people trying to get to work. What’s going on and when can we get accurate info?

@NYCTSubway What is definition of "good service" in your world? There has been no F train at Lex 63 in 15 minutes now in peak commute time, station says Delay but your apps all say GOOD SERVICE pic.twitter.com/ExceYHvHfE
