Fire In Far Rockaway Apartment Kills One: FDNY

A 71-year-old woman was found dead in the blaze that broke out Monday morning, authorities said.

FAR ROCKAWAY, QUEENS -- One woman was killed in a fire that broke out inside a Far Rockaway apartment building early Monday morning, authorities said.

The blaze erupted at around 2:30 a.m. inside the 15th floor of the high-rise building on Seagirt Avenue, fire officials said.

After firefighters put out the blaze, a 71-year-old woman was found unconscious inside the building, police said. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
