More than 1,500 NYC flights were scrapped by Wednesday morning because of the winter storm, authorities say.

NEW YORK CITY, NY -- More than 1,500 New York City flights were canceled by Wednesday morning as the city headed into its second major storm in less than a week.
LaGuardia, John F. Kennedy and Newark Liberty International airports each reported hundreds of flight cancelations because of the nor'easter, which forecasters expect to blanket the city in up to 10 inches of snow.
Around 45 percent of LaGuardia flights were canceled because of the storm by Wednesday morning, along with 40 percent at JFK and 50 percent at Newark in New Jersey, according to Port Authority Executive Rick Cotton.

Several airlines were waiving flight-change fees because of the storm, and Delta offered full refunds to those scrapping their trips because of cancelations or significant delays.
Snow and gusty winds expected from the storm in NYC prompted Delta to cancel around 360 flights at its LaGuardia and JFK hubs, according to an announcement on the airline's website.
