Ridgewood Reservoir Community Tours
Neighborhood: Glendale
What: Explore the more than 50-acre natural oasis that is the Ridgewood Reservoir during this free tour. Though it became obsolete after new reservoirs were added in the Catskill Mountains in the 1950s and was decommissioned in the 1980s, the forest that has since grown here offers a glimpse of natural beauty on the border of Brooklyn and Queens
Where: Ridgewood Reservoir, Vermont Place at Highland Boulevard
When: Saturday at 10 a.m.

Private Guided Exploration of Jamaica Bay Wildlife Refuge & Bird Sanctuary
Neighborhood: Broad Channel
What: Learn about the history of this wildlife refuge as you take a guided tour through its trails to spot egrets, ibis, herons and other shorebirds. Get an up-close-and-personal look at the native reptiles, amphibians, butterflies, horseshoe crabs and other critters that live there. Tour is guided by a National Park Service Ranger. Admission is free, but a $30 advance deposit is required to attend.

Hot Jazz, Cool Garden
Neighborhood: North Corona
What: The final installment in a trio of jazz concerts will feature a headlining performance from Canadian jazz trumpeter Bria Skonberg. Show may be canceled due to rain. Click here for weather updates.

Fool's Gold Day Off NY
Neighborhood: Maspeth
What: This year’s Fool’s Gold hip-hop festival is focused on emerging artists and rising talent. Check out headliners like Chynna, Dem Franchise Boyz, MIKE and more for an inside look at these musicians that might just be the next big thing.

Cemetery Walking Tour
Neighborhood: Kew Gardens
What: Take a stroll through the cemetery’s Victorian section, learn about funerary symbols and styles of the era and visit the gravesites of notable figures from the time period.

When: Explore the land of the dead Saturday at 2 p.m.
