Merdeka Family Potluck Picnic

Between the Flushing, Corona and Willets Point neighborhoods
What: In celebration of Malaysia’s 61st Independence Day, this picnic event will bring together members of the Malaysian community for a day of culture-based talks, food demonstrations, kids programs, games and more.
Where: Flushing Meadows Corona Park near the Meadow Lake boat rental parking lot
When: Saturday at 11 a.m.

Angie Martinez Barbecue
Neighborhood:
Astoria
What: Join Power 105.1 radio DJ Angie Martinez and special guests Ray J, Tory Lanez and Hoodcelebrityy at this rain-or-shine event. Admission includes one specialty cocktail. Lineup subject to change. Click here for more information.
Where: The Garden at Studio Square NYC, 36th Street between 35th and 36th avenues

Mets Versus Nationals
Neighborhood:
Located between the Flushing, Corona and Willets Point neighborhoods
What: The New York Mets (54-70) take on the Washington Nationals (62-63) in a game at which Habitat for Humanity board member Jeremy Honig will sing the Star-Spangled Banner.
Where: Citi Field inside Flushing Meadows Corona Park
When: Saturday at 4:05 p.m.

Beach Sessions Dance Series

Rockaway Park

Breath/Bread of Life: Creating Treasures with Wordplay

What: A free, all-ages poetry workshop led by writer Sherese Francis. This event will “knead together new poetic creations, using language in unexpected ways and even creating new words."
