Police Officer Shot in Face With BB Gun in Jamaica, Union Says
The officer suffered only minor injuries in the incident, according to police.

JAMAICA, NY — A police officer is being treated for minor injuries after being shot in the face with a BB gun in Jamaica on Wednesday afternoon.
The incident happened just after 5 p.m. near the intersection of 168th Street and Jamaica Avenue. The fact he was shot with a BB gun was confirmed by the Sergeant Benevolent Association on Twitter at about 5:15 p.m., but an NYPD spokesman said they were still investigating what caused the injury. The NYPD said the injury was a "minor facial injury." Police were still looking for the suspect early Wednesday evening. The officer from the 103rd Precinct was taken to a local hospital in stable condition.
An FDNY spokesman said they were called to the scene at 5:12 p.m., but the emergency was called off before they even arrived on the scene.

Jamaica-bound Q6, Q8, Q9 & Q41 buses were briefly rerouted due to NYPD activity in the area.
People tweeting on scene outside the area said the officer was helped to a car bleeding from his face.
