Queens Man Fined For Selling Tiger Tooth On Craigslist
The man had listed the tiger tooth for $500, in violation of a state law that prohibits selling parts of endangered wildlife.

QUEENS, NY — A Queens man was fined for trying to sell a tiger tooth on Craigslist, according to the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation.
The man, identified as Igor Mukhin, listed the tiger tooth for $500.
But when he met up with two interested buyers, they turned out to be undercover environmental conservation police officers, or ECOs.

Mukin was slapped with a $500 fine for selling pieces of endangered wildlife, which is prohibited in New York, according to a news release.
The state seized the tiger tooth and will use it for educational purposes.

"From Montauk Point and Brooklyn to Buffalo, the ECOs patrolling our state are the first line of defense in protecting New York's environment and our natural resources, ensuring that they exist for future generations of New Yorkers," Department of Environmental Conservation Commissioner Basil Seggos said in a statement.
