What: Special guests from Professional Women Photographers will be coming to the Queens Botanical Garden to lead a walk through the park and demonstrate photography basics.

When: Saturday 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.

What: There will be surf contests, skateboard demos, arts and crafts.

Where: Beach 90th Street in Rockaway Beach off Shorefront Parkway

Mexican Sculpture Making

Neighborhood: Astoria

What: Honoring Oaxacan marionnette art with a day of sculpture making. Plus, all of the art will be made out of recycled materials only.

Where: Socrates Sculpture Garden

When: Saturday 12 p.m. to 3 p.m.


Family Field Day

Neighborhood: Bay Terrace

What: Family Field Day is more than just a walk in the park. There’s kayaking, a soccer workshop, inflatables, live entertainment, and loads of games for a little friendly competition.

Where: Fort Totten Park, Cross Island Pkwy. and 15 Rd.

When: Saturday 12 p.m. to 3 p.m.


Tree Identification Walk

Neighborhood: Jamaica Hills

What: A walk to learn about local species of trees. The stroll covers mostly paved paths and urban park rangers will talk about the different species you pass.

Where: Captain Tilly Park, 85th Avenue and 165th Street

When: Saturday 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.


Rockaway Beach Summer Kick-Off

Neighborhood: Rockaway

What: A day of inflatables, Parks’ Playmobile, arts and crafts, music, refreshments, and other family-friendly activities. Enjoy the park’s official start to summer!

Where: Beach 108th Street Roller Rink, by 108th and Shorefront Parkway.

When: Saturday 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.


Art Workshop With Cecile Chong

Neighborhood: Flushing

What: Free art making class with Cecile Chong, an incredible and innovative artist. Chong made the El Dorado exhibition, a series of 49 sculptures in honor of the 49% of households in New York City that speak a language other than English. She’s a cultural staple and visionary, and you don’t want to miss the chance to work with her.

Where: Lewis H Latimer House, 34-41 137th St

When: Sunday 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.


America's Got Talent: Rogue in Queens

Neighborhood: Flushing

What: Magic show by the America’s Got Talent star Rogue.

Where: Fantasy Forest Amusement Park, 54th Avenue and 11th Street

When: Sunday 2:00 p.m.–3:00 p.m.


LGBTQ Pride

Neighborhood: NYC
