Tornado Warning Issued For Parts Of Queens

The National Weather Service said a severe storm was capable of producing twisters.

UPDATE: The warning expired at 10:45 p.m. with the National Weather Service reporting: "The storm which prompted the warning has weakened below severe limits and no longer appears capable of producing a tornado."

QUEENS, NY – A tornado warning has been issued for parts of Queens.

The National Weather Service said a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado was over Flushing around 10:20 p.m. Thursday and was moving east at about 20 mph.

It was expected to move out of the borough around 10:45 p.m.
