York College Staffer Busted For Drug Deals By The School: Report

The York College lab technician and his alleged drug supplier are accused of selling cocaine near the college at least twice, charges say.

JAMAICA, QUEENS -- A York College lab technician and his alleged drug dealer are behind bars on charges of selling cocaine in drug deals that happened near the City University of New York college in Jamaica.

Timothy Hawkins, 52, and Barry Salter, 47, were arraigned Wednesday for the alleged drug deals after a 9-month NYPD investigation into the two Jamaica men that ended in officers from the Narcotics Team allegedly recovering 2 kilos of cocaine in Salter's apartment, Queens District Attorney Richard Brown said Friday.

“This investigation is another example of police and prosecutors working together to reduce drug dealing that too often plagues our neighborhoods,” Brown said.
