Creekview CTR's Paint & Sip Party Demonstrates Residents' Talent
Both Recreation & Rehabilitation Staff Work Together To Bring Out the Creativity of Their Residents

Mind-body therapy is alive and well at Creekview Nursing and Rehabilitation on Beahan Road in Rochester whereby, on a monthly basis, both the Recreation and Rehabilitation departments at the facility work together along with the residents to do "therapeutic paint and sip party". Traditionally, while paint and sip activities are conducted through the recreation or activities department, the rehabilitation department noticed a key piece of the painting skills and it has a lot to do with eye-hand coordination.

"It's all about treating the individual as a whole," said Carey Anderson, Director of Rehabilitation at Creekview Nursing and Rehabilitation. "While our colleagues in Recreation do a marvelous job offering so many activities to do including paint and sip, therapy sees how residents work to create their art which plays into the many branches of rehab including both physical and occupational therapy."
These paint and sip parties that rehabilitation and recreation are gaining popularity throughout the facility. The date for the March 2020 Paint and Sip is undecided but that will be decided on shortly. so leadership at Creekview decided to have these on a monthly basis.
